The online learning resource 'Making group-work work' that was filmed and edited by Leeds Media Services, Steven White and Mark Smith, has won two top awards.

The LearnHigher 'Making group-work work' resource, developed by the Universities of Bradford, Brunel and Leeds, received first place for both the Jorum Learning and Teaching Competition - www.jorum.ac.uk/community/altcCompetition.html and the Epigeum Award for Most Effective Use of Video Presentations (presented at ALT-C 2009 conference).

The resource is designed to help both students and tutors understand and overcome the challenges of group work. The learning path involves a series of 10 episodes, taking five students through the journey of a group work project. Each episode highlights a different aspect of working as part of a group and includes video, audio, discussion points and a range of additional resources. The resource can be found at www.learnhighergroupwork.com/
In 2008 'Making group-work work' was nominated in the British Universities Film & Video Council's prestigious Learning on Screen Awards. This was one three productions that have been nominated in the past two years in which Mark Smith and Steven White have been key contributors.
